CORE Types and Wealth Dynamics compared

Of all the well-known profiling models, Wealth Dynamics is the closest to CORE Types. Both are built for entrepreneurs rather than employees. Both assume there is a natural way to get results, and that working against your own grain costs you.

Where they differ is in their origins and in what you get at the end. This page describes both in a way a Wealth Dynamics user would recognise. Misrepresenting a competitor to look better explains nothing.

In short

  • Wealth Dynamics has eight profiles and asks about your natural path to wealth. The test is in English and costs $97.
  • CORE Types has four types, Constructor, Operator, Rainmaker and Explorer, and asks about your role in your own company and what you should hand over. The QuickCheck is free; CORE Navigator with your personal CORE profile and Sprints & Checklists costs €247 plus VAT.
  • If you want a shared language for your path as an entrepreneur and a large community, Wealth Dynamics serves you well. If you need to settle a concrete role question in the business you run today, CORE is the better fit.

What Wealth Dynamics is

Wealth Dynamics is a profiling system for entrepreneurs developed by Roger James Hamilton. The year usually given is 2003.1 Genius Group Limited acquired Wealth Dynamics and Entrepreneurs Institute in 2019, and the test is sold today through GeniusU, the group's platform.2 A sister version for organisations, Talent Dynamics, has existed since 2009.3 In the shop, the current product is called "Wealth Dynamics 5.0 Assessment".4

The provider positions it squarely for entrepreneurs. The official eGuide sets it apart from other personality tests by saying Wealth Dynamics is "tailored to entrepreneurs" and gives "a formula and path specifically for entrepreneurs, with role models to follow".5

The eight profiles

Wealth Dynamics distinguishes eight profiles:6

Profile Provider's tagline
The Creator "Creating a better product"
The Star "Creating a better brand"
The Supporter "Leading the team"
The Deal Maker "Bringing people together"
The Trader "Buying low, selling high"
The Accumulator "Collecting appreciating assets"
The Lord "Controlling cash flow assets"
The Mechanic "Creating a better system"

How the eight profiles are built

The profiles sit on a square, the "Wealth Profile Square". It has four base frequencies: Dynamo, Blaze, Tempo and Steel.7 Four profiles stand for a pure frequency; the other four sit on the corners and mix two:8

Frequency Pure profile Corner profiles
Dynamo Creator Star (Dynamo and Blaze), Mechanic (Steel and Dynamo)
Blaze Supporter Star, Deal Maker (Blaze and Tempo)
Tempo Trader Deal Maker, Accumulator (Tempo and Steel)
Steel Lord Accumulator, Mechanic

Short summaries often miss that the model has five frequencies, not four. The fifth is called Spirit and sits outside the square. The provider describes it as "the source to the rest" and links it to the question of why.9

Where the model comes from

The provider is open about its roots. The eGuide says the five frequencies were "first identified in the Chinese 'Book of Changes': The I Ching" and reached C. G. Jung through Richard Wilhelm's translation while Jung was developing his "Psychological Types".10 The four base frequencies are matched to seasons and Chinese elements: Dynamo to spring and wood, Blaze to summer and fire, Tempo to autumn and earth, Steel to winter and metal. The provider maps the eight profiles to the eight trigrams of the I Ching.11 On its website, it also describes the profiles as the result of years of studying successful wealth creators.12

None of this comes from critics. It is the official self-description, and people who use Wealth Dynamics usually know what the model rests on and choose it with that in mind.

What Wealth Dynamics does well

It gives entrepreneurial strengths a vocabulary that works in daily life. "I'm a Creator, my partner is a Deal Maker" describes a division of labour in one sentence both of you understand at once. For a founding team that needs a common language, that is worth a lot.

Then there is the ecosystem. According to the eGuide, the offer includes an online platform, learning material, mentoring and events, plus consultants who guide others through their profile.13 If you want a group that speaks the same language, not just a result, you will find something there that a profile alone can't give you.

And the model works with role models. Each profile is paired with well-known entrepreneurs, which is good teaching: an abstract profile gets a face.

What to know about price, scope and language

Price. The test costs $97 and includes the full profile report.14 Add-on packages in the shop, such as extra reports for specific audiences or debrief sessions, range from $106 to $995.4 There is a free short version called the "Genius Test", a "light" version of Wealth Dynamics and Talent Dynamics.3

Licence for consultants. The "Digital Flow Consultant Licence" costs $150 a month and includes the licence to use Wealth and Talent Dynamics plus 40 tokens.15

Teams. The Team Dynamics Workshop starts at a team of five, for $2,500.16

Time. The provider says "under 10 minutes" and "less than 10 minutes".14 We couldn't find the number of questions.

Language. The provider's pages and the eGuide are in English. We found no German version of the test on the provider's pages on 26 October 2026; whether one exists is unknown.

User numbers. Official sources give "over 500,000 people" (eGuide), "More than 250,000 entrepreneurs" (wealthdynamics.com), "Trusted by 2M+ entrepreneurs" and a counter showing 2,372,300 test takers (GeniusU test page, 26 October 2026).17 These figures don't match, so we don't treat any of them as fact.

What CORE Types does differently

CORE Types works with four types instead of eight profiles: Constructor, Operator, Rainmaker and Explorer. Your strongest and second-strongest type together form one of 16 hybrid profiles, and the intensity shows how strongly you live your type.18

The bigger difference is the question. Wealth Dynamics asks about your natural path to wealth across your whole career as an entrepreneur. CORE asks about your role in your own company: which work suits you, what you hand over and which complement you're missing. The website puts it in one line: clarify your role, decide what you hand over.

That leads to a different result. After about 15 minutes, the free QuickCheck shows your CORE type profile with initial role suggestions and one lever for your current situation.19 Your personal CORE profile covers 16 sections on CORE Types and CORE Dynamics, including the next-hire profile and actions for 7, 30 or 90 days, starting with a 7-day sprint.20

On origins, the same rule applies as for Wealth Dynamics: they belong on the table. CORE Navigator launched in 2025 and is based on its own model of CORE Types and CORE Dynamics, developed by Joram Höfs. A profile gives you pointers for conversations and decisions, and the decision stays with you.21

Values and behaviour under pressure

This is the biggest difference between the two systems, bigger than eight profiles against four types.

In Wealth Dynamics, the eGuide describes the role in which someone is in flow. Stress only appears as a promise: find your flow and your "stress and struggle go down". The word "pressure" doesn't appear in the guide at all, and the guide says nothing about what a profile does when things get tight. "Value" appears 77 times, almost always in the economic sense of the formula WEALTH = VALUE x LEVERAGE, meaning value created in the market, not personal priorities.22 In fairness: the platform has a separate test, the Flow Factor, which looks at how far someone is living in their flow right now. It describes a current state and isn't part of the profile result.23

In CORE, CORE Dynamics adds a values profile to the type profile. It shows which values guide your decisions day to day and which take over when things get tight. That move is called the stress shift, and you get concrete countermeasures for it.24 It isn't a verdict on you. It is a starting point for a conversation with your coach or your co-founder.

In practice: Wealth Dynamics tells a Creator that he is in flow when he creates. CORE also shows a Constructor what shifts for him under pressure and which countermeasure he can plan for it. The first is a direction for a career. The second is a pointer for the next few weeks.

Two people instead of one

Wealth Dynamics thinks in teams. The eGuide describes how knowing the profiles of your team, partners and customers helps you "orchestrate the right people to do the right things at the right time", and Talent Dynamics serves organisations.25 That is a serious offer. The team workshop, though, starts at five people.16

With CORE, each co-founder takes their own profile and you put both side by side. You see where you both want to do the same work and which seat stays empty. There is no joint duo profile today.26 Who decides what, you settle in conversation; the seat map for co-founder duos gives you a template.

Neither model is meant for screening applicants. CORE doesn't screen candidates, not even with the next-hire profile. The next-hire profile describes the complement you're missing, so you can define the role more precisely before you start looking.27

When Wealth Dynamics is the better choice

If you're looking for a shared language in a founding team and the community matters more to you than a concrete role decision, Wealth Dynamics is stronger. Its events and consultants have been around for many years and reach far more people than a young product can.

If your question is about your whole career rather than the next quarter, a path to wealth fits better than role clarity. Wealth Dynamics thinks in stages of life, CORE in the current state of your business.

And if you like English-language material built around role models, Wealth Dynamics has plenty of it.

When CORE Types is the better choice

If you run an agency or consultancy with a team and your question is which tasks to hand over and which complement you're missing, you need an answer for your business, not a map for your life. That is what the result is built for.

If you keep finding yourself in tasks someone else should be doing, that's a role question, and it depends on where your business is right now.

If you'd rather work in German, or want to see whether a model fits you before paying anything, the free QuickCheck is the easier way in. Today you secure your spot through the waitlist.

Using both

The two models don't exclude each other. If you know your Wealth Dynamics profile and work with it, you lose nothing by also settling the role question. And a CORE result can explain why your Wealth Dynamics profile feels wrong in your current business: the profile describes your inclination, the role describes your daily work. When the two drift apart, that gap is exactly the information that matters.

FAQ

What is the difference between Wealth Dynamics and CORE Types?

Wealth Dynamics has eight profiles and, by its own account, describes eight paths to wealth; the provider says the model draws on the I Ching, the Chinese elements and C. G. Jung's typology. CORE Types describes how you work with four types, Constructor, Operator, Rainmaker and Explorer, looks at your role in your own company and adds your values profile through CORE Dynamics. Both are built for entrepreneurs, but they answer different questions.

How many profiles does Wealth Dynamics have?

Wealth Dynamics has eight profiles: Creator, Star, Supporter, Deal Maker, Trader, Accumulator, Lord and Mechanic. They sit on a square with the four base frequencies Dynamo, Blaze, Tempo and Steel; four profiles represent one pure frequency, four mix two. The provider also names a fifth frequency, Spirit, which sits outside the square.

What is Wealth Dynamics based on?

According to the provider, on five frequencies first described in the Chinese I Ching, which it says influenced C. G. Jung through Richard Wilhelm's translation. The frequencies are matched to seasons and Chinese elements, and the eight profiles to the eight trigrams of the I Ching. The provider also cites years of studying successful wealth creators.

Is Wealth Dynamics free, and is it available in German?

There is a free short version, the "Genius Test"; the full test costs $97. We found no German version on the provider's pages. CORE Navigator is available in English and German, and the QuickCheck is free; today you secure your spot through the waitlist.

Can I convert my Wealth Dynamics profile into a CORE Type?

No. There is no official conversion, and we don't offer an unofficial one. The models ask different questions, so any mapping table would be a claim without a basis. The useful route runs the other way: take your Wealth Dynamics profile as a description of your inclination, and use CORE to check whether your current role in the business matches it.
